Odawa Quill Work: Demonstrations at the History Museum
Join us for a special cultural event at the Harbor Springs History Museum, where you’ll have the opportunity to meet and learn from accomplished Odawa artist Jacob L. Keshick. Keshick, a renowned quill worker, will be offering live demonstrations of his intricate, centuries-old craft from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on the second floor of the History Museum.
Throughout the day, visitors can observe Keshick's techniques, ask question about materials, and gain a deeper appreciation for the cultural significance of quill art within the Odawa community. Student visitors can try quill work themselves too, using pipe cleaners, and create box top designs on special worksheets.
Come celebrate and explore Odawa heritage at this immersive and educational event. No registration needed, these are drop-in demonstrations. Be sure to visit the new photography exhibit downstairs at the Harbor Springs History Museum when you stop by.
