Bay View at 150

Join Bay View's Archivist, Elizabeth Nelson, to learn about the history of the Bay View Association as it celebrates its 150th anniversary! Nelson will cover the resort's history, the history of the nationwide Chautauqua movements, and Bay View's connection with the other summer resorts in the area.

Elizabeth Elvidge Nelson is an Archivist, Librarian, Historian, Musician, and lifelong learner. The Archivist for the Bay View Association, she is also the Director of Libraries/Archives at the Interlochen Center for the Arts. She holds advanced degrees from the University of Michigan (Music) and Long Island University (Library Science). She and her husband Paul (a Petoskey High School graduate) purchased a Bay View cottage in 1989 and have raised their two children on the shores of Little Traverse Bay.
