Shay Days is a two-day, family-focused celebration of inventor Ephraim Shay with numerous activities for visitors of all ages to explore Shay’s impact on our history. The event takes place at Shay Park on Main Street in Harbor Springs as well as at the Harbor Springs History Museum.

- Stop by Shay Park to see the Michigan Small Scale Live Steamers, a group of model train experts who will be running their model Shay locomotives both days from 10am-5pm. The trains have real steam boilers and are a delight to watch.
- “In Shay’s Day” Walking Tours – beginning at the museum, these tours follow the railroad grade of the historic Hemlock Central railway. Advance registration is appreciated; 231-526-9771.
- Kids crafts, games and STEM projects will take place at under a tent in Shay Park and at the Museum.
- Lectures on logging and Shay’s service in the Civil War.
