History of Hershey Chocolate
Thursday, Oct 28, 2021
6:30pm – 7:30pm
Just in time for Halloween! Join us to welcome Laura Keyes to our virtual History Talk series to talk about Milton Hershey and his candy empire.
Today the name Hershey is synonymous with quality milk chocolate. But that wasn’t always the case. Milton S. Hershey worked hard and failed often before his chocolate company was finally successful. And when he did become a household name and had earned a vast fortune, Milton and his wife Catherine decided to give it all away. Because of their generosity, tens of thousands of orphans have been saved, protected, and educated. Attend this illustrated lecture to hear the “behind the scenes” story of this beloved American company.
Advanced registration is required for this online presentation. A zoom link will be emailed to participants a day prior to the lecture. Tickets are $10 and are available online (register below) or by calling 231-526-9771. Please note that this presentation will NOT be recorded.
Laura Keyes is a librarian from Illinois who has been portraying historic women and lecturing on historic topics since 2008.
