The Odawa and Water

Water has always been more than a natural resource to the Odawa of Little Traverse Bay. It has shaped their history, livelihood and even political decisions. Historically, waterways were an integral part of Odawa identify and they continue to be to this day.

On Thursday, June 24, the Historical Society is pleased to welcome Eric Hemenway, Director of Archives and Records for the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians, to discuss the connection between the Odawa and water. The presentation will take place online via Zoom and registration is required. Participants will receive the Zoom link a day or so prior to the presentation.
