Blessing Boat Parade Sets Sail July 2

Traditions live on in Harbor Springs and there is no better time or way to kick-off the summer and celebrates the rich maritime history of the area than with a blessing of all watercraft for a safe boating season.

The 8th Annual Blessing of the Fleet Boat Parade will take place on Thursday, July 2nd.

Weather permitting, the boat parade will extend from Harbor Point to Petoskey State Park for increased viewing area and to allow for social distancing. There will be no events on the main city pier.

Participants are asked to register their watercraft with the Historical Society.

For those without a boat, we have options! Participants can “choose to cruise” aboard the Isle Royale Queen. This 81’ vessel, which hails from Mackinac Island, will be hosting a parade cruise to benefit the Historical Society. $100/person includes full bar and light snacks. Reservations are required. Limited seating available.

Another option available, thanks to a grant from the Petoskey Area Visitors Bureau, are complimentary SUP and kayak rentals from The Outfitter. Rentals begin at 5pm on July 2nd. Reservations are required and can be made by calling the Outfitter at 526-2621.
